[OU] Opera 8.5, URL http://www.repair-help.com/, exchanging 12 KB/s data, both directions, continuously

This morning I found my system sending and receiving data to someone/something
over the Internet at about 12 KB/s in both directions--I'm guessing it
exchanged on the order of 20 MB of data (based on the total data exchanged
since last night), and I presume it would have continued indefinitely had I
not found the cause (and killed opera).
That worried me. (I mean, it really worried me to see just as much data going
back as was coming in.)
After some detective work, I eventually determined the following page, opened
in Opera, was the cause of the problem:
http://www.repair-help.com/
When I open the same page in konqueror, it behaves "normally" (i.e., there is
a quick download that presumably corresponds to the size of the page).
I'm using Opera on Mandriva 2006. (I switched from dialup to broadband about
a week ago--not sure that has any relevance except that a week ago it could
not have been exchanging data with anything at 12 KB/s (in either direction,
let alone both.):
Version 8.5
Build 1358
Platform Linux
System i686, 2.6.12-12mdk
Qt library 3.3.4
Java Java Runtime Environment installed
Can anyone:
* duplicate this on the up-to-date version of opera?
* duplicate it at all?
* shed more light on this?
Thanks!
Randy Kramer
PS: Aside re detective work: I learned to use kill -STOP and kill -CONT to
pause and resume processes to narrow down the problem. I was a little
surprised that worked for GUI applications like opera, konqueror, and kmail.
