[OU] Opera 9.5 not opening web pages

I am using 9.5 with only one problem as I see it. When trying to open a  
url from an external source all I get is a blank page. That is if using a  
different program I click on help, then connect to web page it will open  
the browser but only with a blank page. The same happens with a saved  
short cut.
In preferences|advanced|downloads the url suffix is to open with opera, it  
just doesn't seem to transfer the web address.
Anyone help at all?
