We are both using Opera's M2.

Yes, the mail folders for each are in each user's own directory with all  
the other Opera configuration files. Nothing of Opera is in Program Files  
or Documents and Settings.

Neither mail folder is protected.

I suspect tht this is the case, after reading so many posts about the  
defects of this apparently hasty release. I wouldn't have attempted to  
upgrade so quickly, except that Secunia listed several security proplems  
that had been corrected with this release.
