Click on the View button ***in the Transfers window** and there are options:
1) Show When Starting Download (default)
2) Show in Background when Starting Download (my preference)
3) Never Show When Starting Download
I love the fact that Opera puts downloads in another tab AND I love
option #2, the best of all worlds, because the tab shows me that A) a
download has started and B) how long it will take to finish.
Every other browser out there puts downloads in a separate window
which either a) steals focus or b) puts the downloads window behind
the main window, meaning I can't see that the download has started or
when it has finished.
With the world going ga-ga over tabs in the past few years, I'm amazed
that more browser don't handle downloads as a tab.
(That said, I wish Opera would use option #2 as the default, as I find
it MUCH less annoying!)
