I hit that limit once. I don't remember how many tabs, but I got a
message that said that many tabs could not be displayed in the tabs
bar. It didn't say anything about not being able to open that many
pages.
I regularly open a couple of dozen tabs at once. Opera seems to
handle it okay, but sometimes a page or two will stall. This affects
performance because the machine works hard to download that page and
no data is coming. Sometime I have to find the stalled page and hit
the escape key.
In my experience, the number of tabs that I can open is more
determined by how much RAM I have and how good a processor and
connection. These limits come into play before Opera's limits. (I'm
using a Mac with a gig of RAM.)
How many tabs are your trying to open, and what problems are you
experiencing?
