[OU] Mail Account "Freezing"

Greetings all,

I've noticed something interesting for the past few years and want to know if anyone has experienced something similar. I have five POP3 email accounts for use in Opera, and all of them (or most) are set to check for new mail every 5-10 minutes. I've noticed that occasionally one of them will get stuck in the "checking for new mail" state. While other accounts will continue to check for mail, the "stuck" account won't check for mail and it stops up the new mail/newseeds indicator as well. Pressing the "stop" button from the Mail window does nothing. The only fix for this is to quit Opera and then start it up again. This happened on both Windows and Mac OS X versions of Opera. My girlfriend has noticed this as well, also on her Windows and Mac OS X installs.

The interesting thing is that this happens rather regularly only with my university email account (same for my girlfriend - we attend the same university). I've considered reporting this as a bug, but if it's only occurring with my university's POP3 service then perhaps it's not worth it (or perhaps I should report it to the university instead). Any thoughts?
