[OU] Where is the lock?

After accidentally shutting down Opera, I attempted to restart it and it 
complained that it was already running and if I wanted two copies I 
should run in multi-user mode (which of course I already am).

Thinking the first copy had not quite finished cleaning up, I left it for 
several minutes before trying again, with the same result. I had to 
logout/login to get it to start.

I looked in what I thought would be the obvious places for a lock file 
but failed to find anything looking like one. For next time, where is the 
lock kept?

Please reply direct as I am on Digest.

BTW why is the Digest now sent monthly rather than daily?
