[OU] Information, please

I'm running Opera 9.23 on a Mac mini with OS X 10.9.3.

With a consistent frequency that's quite alarming, whenever I click on a
link, the pafe jumps up about 3 sentences, or just under an inch.

Does anyone have any reason why? Do any fixes exist?
