Okay, I still have to restore my bookmarks. I have Powermarks, but not
sure how to move them from there to Opera. I also store them at myHQ,
but when I tried to fix it from there, they only gave me a few
bookmarks, not the whole collection.
I downloaded the files you mention but am unclear as to how to use it. I
am running Windows 2000 Pro. By startup group, do you mean the Windows
log-on startup? When I ran the program, a DOS window momentarily flashed
at me and that was it. What is supposed to happen? Where does it store
the files? Where do I put the Clay utilities?
By the by, I've been using Opera for about 2 years now and this is the
first time this ever happened to me. The adr file is stored in the
default directory.
Thanks.

I have posted a batch-file in the files area of geoapps.com called
BackOp6.bat which will back up ALL changed Opera files (including
bookmarks) to C:\Backups\Opera\xxx, where XXX is the Day-of-the-Week
(e.g. Fri). I have only tested it under Windows 2000 but it should
work fine under Win9x and WinME. Since it uses environment variables
so you may need to increase the environment space from "Auto" under
Win9x/Me.
You can use this backup file to back up all your changed Opera files
every time you log in. Just put a link to it in your Startup group
and set the environment space (if needed). NOTE: you will also need
XCHANGE.EXE and DAYOFWK.COM, freeware programs from Clay's Utilities,
somewhere in your path. If you can't find the latest version of
Clay's Utilities using Google, a fairly recent version of them can
also be downloaded from my website.
