NEW YORK, New York - June 27, 2001 - At PCExpo, Opera Software today
launched the new Opera Composer. The Opera Composer lets users create,
download and distribute their personally designed Web browser for
distribution to other members of a group for free.
The Opera Composer lets users design as much or as little of the
browser as they wish from the graphics on the buttons to the
illustration on the start-up screen. Users can customize their own
Hotlist and bookmarks, choose between including e-mail and news,
and give their browser its own name. Users can spend 5 minutes and
choose from pre-set options, or use a whole day and to create their
own graphics and images to create a personal look.
"With the Opera Composer, Opera users can customize their browser in
the way that best fits their needs," says Jon S. von Tetzchner, CEO of
Opera Software. "The Opera Composer lets everyone from local football
clubs to ISPs create a customized browser that integrates their
community on the Web."
Opera Composer offers any club, organization or individual the
opportunity to customize their own version of Opera for free, allowing
them to share their customized version with friends, colleagues,
members or customers.
The Opera Composer lets users:
· add personal/special buttons to the user interface with
title/URL/Hoover tip
· skin personalized images for toolbar and background
· personalize the browser name
· create their own splash/start-up screen
· customize Hotlist bookmarks/e-mail/contacts and 2 HTML fields
· set their own start page
