Is it possible that you've inadvertently set up more than one e-mail 
profile, and are using Opera's "E-mail > Check all accounts" (CTRL-
SHIFT_K) command. If one of the accounts is set-up properly and another 
is missing the POP3 server data, that would explain the fact that you 
are are sending and receiving messages OK -- AND still getting an error 
message when Opera tries to check mail using the second set of 
preference settings.
