Just as you thought this thread had died 8-) ... I actually posted this a
week ago but it was never distributed on the list and my repeat posting
got caught for moderation (wrong sending address) and never made it
through. Third time lucky maybe? ...

I can see the merits of just about all the suggestions made on this
subject but it isn't clear whether the obvious (to me!) solution has been
considered.

There are configuration options (under Toolbars, in a box labelled 'Tool
tips' ... so why are they called 'Popup's in the help texts?) which allow
the standard delivery of the title attribute to be toggled on/off. There
are two others - one allows the (non-standard I believe, but certainly
useful) delivery of link targets and another that I have not managed to
fathom concerning buttons (can anyone explain it please?).

Could we have an option to toggle on/off the delivery of the Alt text when
nothing better is available? I would also suggest there should be a
ranking so that when several alternatives are available the customer can
set the preference - I would go for title/href/alt but others would
evidently place alt higher up the list.

I'm running Opera 5.11 on Win98SE BTW.

regards,
	Malcolm.
