One could do a comparison by running W95. But there's a
better way.

It's called "98lite". http://www.98lite.com
It, plus their other program, "IEradicator" work together
to:
1) eliminate completely IE 4,5,6
and
2) remove all web integration from your desktop and replacing
the IE/Windows Explorer shell with the (pre OSr2) 95 explorer
shell.

98lite runs WAY faster, is far more stable, and becomes closer to
being a real OS (only).
It's a free DL to get the two but 98lite is also available as a $25US
purchase that gives many more features that may just be worth
having.
(You may need to have on hand or within an upgraded OS, the
"original" W95 (not OSr2) cab files depending upon what *style*
of lite you choose.
Be careful with the "Micro" style. It removes MSHTML which some
current apps have been designed to rely on.

I've been using 98lite for almost three years now. Not one single
problem attributable to it. I haven't even SEEN a copy of IE or
Outlook since. :-))))))

For us folks that are using products that make our systems go faster
and work better, this is the best starting point I can think of.
After getting/using Opera of course. :-)

Have fun,
T
