[Opera-Linux] Does opera make much use of /tmp?

I don't see any entries when doing an "lsof -p" (not even deleted files),
but I wonder if the fact that Opera (any recent version, and even the
i386 builds instead of the 64-bit ones) eats memory like it's going out
of style is 'cause it uses /tmp much, which is mounted on tmpfs (ramdisk)
on my machine.

It's a long shot ('cause I'm sure tmpfs usage isn't charged to a
process' resident mem), but when after browsing for an hour with ~20
tabs open I'm using 2.5 GIGAbytes of *resident* RAM I gotta know what
the hell's going on.
