[Opera-Linux] Printing in Linux

I have just solved a problem that has bugged me for ages.

Opera has been the main culprit here, although sometimes firefox would
misbehave in the same way. No other applications suffer from the
problem.

Here is the mystery problem. No matter what I did, I couldn't get pages
to print in portrait orientation. When I specify portrait in opera, it
would print the page in across the page, but with the tops and bottoms
cut off, as if it had actually printed in portrait but the job had been
spun around in the printer.

It wasn't a driver problem as it happens on both of my printers.

But tonight in a rare moment of inspiration, it occurred to me that both
of my printers are HPs and therefore go through the HPLIP application. I
fiddled around in there and discovered that for some reason it was set
to Landscape. Switching it to Portrait fixed the problem.

So if anyone else has problems printing with HP printers, and if you
have HPLIP installed, that could be your problem.
