[Opera-Linux] Opera Dropdown Breaks Textfields

I am encountering a bug on Ubuntu Jaunty with Opera 9.6. Whenever I active  
a dropdown and make a selection, my text boxes and text fields longer  
work. That is, the cursor moves to a text field, but nothing happens when  
I type. This is not just with forms, but anywhere in the browser. For  
example, when I type into the url bar and the autocomplete dropdown  
appears, I select one of the urls. Now none of the textfields in the  
application will work. I am unable to edit the url further. The only way  
to recover is to restart opera. Is there any way around this? Has anyone  
encountered this besides myself?
