[Opera-Linux] Threaded view expands without prompting

I've looked everywhere I know to look to change this feature or  
mistake....what ever it is I don't like having my email messages expanded  
without my input. At times I get 200 to 300 messages per day and when  
Opera expands every thread in my inbox it's very difficult to scroll  
through, not to mention time consuming. I have the threaded feature ticked  
under View in the Unread window. If I happen to shut my computer down or  
even close Opera and then reopen it, all of the messages will be expanded.

Where do I go or what do I do to control that unwanted expansion of my  
threaded messages?
