Indeed Opera has had a long-standing *issue* with flashplayer, but I don't think
Opera is alone in this regard. I've noted lockups using Iceweasel (Firefox),
that *seem* to be flash related as well.
I don't use ms windows any more, so I can't comment on how well, or how
poorly, flashplayer works there, but I'm wondering if this is maybe a flash vs
linux thing.
A lot of websites are very flash-intensive these days, so this is quite annoying
to say the least. I seem to have *adjusted* my browsing in a manner that I just
expect to have issues with flash and linux. Any flash videos I view seem to
consume more cpu cycles than one would expect, and this happens regardless
of browser choice.
Perhaps my observations are not accurate, but they are my observations
nonetheless. ;)
I agree that a smooth flash experience would indeed be "totally groovy". :)
