[Opera-Linux] what's wrong with Opera?? Windows 3.1 look and feel

I use Xfce only and I have no Gnome installed. The result of
$ env | grep -i desktop
is NULL.

I use slim-1.3.0 as a login manager. I'm sure it sets no such
variables by default.
