Is there any way for the devels to consider making these items drawn
by GTK+, when people are running Gnome or Xfce (something in the GTK
file chooser style)? It may contribute to the GTK+ users diminuing
their rant against Opera's being a QT application and reticence
towards switching to it.

Not perfectly, yet. Not under Xfce.
