For the first time since Opera 6.3, I can't get into my bank website
without turning off Java. Of course the problem si not with the bank
website, but with the install of Java on Opera. Haven't been able to get
Java to work for the last couple of versions.
If I go to the Opera java help page and try the test applet, it kills
Opera. I'm finding nothing about this on the Opera/Linux mailing list.
I've googled and found something about a sym-link but do not understand
what they are talking about.......
Java appears to be installed in /usr/lib/jvm/jre/lib/i386 as it is
validated and when I look in this i386 file I do find all the files from
the install.
When I search using find / -name libjava.so 2> /dev/null I get the
following pathway:
/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.5.0-sun-1.5.0_update13/jre/lib/i386/libjava.so
When I attempt to validate this pathway it says, it cannot find what it
needs. As you can tell, I'm confused about the whole thing and have not
been able to use Java for quite some time now. What part of this am I not
understanding and how do I get Java to work? What other info do you need
to help provide a resolution?
Thanks for any and all help,
