[Opera-Linux] Fraud protection check through a proxy - NOT working

Hello Opera developers,

I have encountered this problem for quite some time (this is not a
snapshot specific problem):

the Fraud protection check fails when using Opera under Linux and
through a transparent proxy. I don't know what exactly triggers the
error, however this is my specific case (I do believe it is because of
the proxy). When clicking the [i] or [?] icon from the address bar, it
tells me "fraud protection error; Download failed. Cannot connect to
sitecheck.opera.com". Sometimes this functionality is quite
desireable.
