Hi,
I recently discovered that a succesor to mplayerplugin that should work
with Opera is developed, namely the Gecko media player, the homepage
being: http://dekorte.homeip.net/download/gecko-mediaplayer/.
However, it, as of now, works not very well with Opera. Try to go to
apple.com/trailers and see for yourself - the trailer will not show, only
after you hit F5 and sometimes even then it will just display a black
rectangular window in place where the trailer should be.
The developer says it is due to a bug in Opera: "I've seen this myself it
seems to be caused by a bug in Opera. It is not
sending the SetWindow event properly."
I filled a bug (266776) about it as well. And there is a related thread on
myopera forums:
http://my.opera.com/community/forums/topic.dml?id=154160&t=1180306042.
However, could some please confirm this?
